Transco contract in the pipeline for Driving Services

Possibly the largest contract ever awarded for the application of driver risk assessments within a mixed fleet of around 30,000 drivers based all around the UK.

Transco have been committed to fleet & driver safety for some years and did introduce an extensive driver training programme some time ago. The commitment to safety is still very high, but the requirements have changed. Commenting on the pilot, the Transco Network Director responsible for the MORR in North London stated “Transco is committed to providing drivers of all vehicles a driving risk assessment and then any further measures that are flagged up after that assessment. We have a very proactive approach to driver safety and we are now looking to enhance this by providing training courses for any driver that is shown to be at risk. Driving Services have demonstrated that they have the experience and background to offer the right support for the process for us to move further forward with this project”.

Vince Reid, Network Support manager for London network stated “Driving Services have exceeded our expectations with regard to the initial support and guidance that is required to put a project like this together and make it work. I provide the liaison within the group, and they provide the understanding and best practice outside the group”. Doug Jenkins, Managing Director of Driving Services said: “It is an exciting time for us and we are looking forward to working with Transco. You have to have good ears and sound credibility to work towards these goals. Our company, staff and trainers are always striving to provide the highest standards in training and administration available”.
