Hampshire Constabulary Chooses Driving Services For the Second Time

Driving Services has been re-appointed by Hampshire Police Authority to be the training provider for Hampshire’s Driver Improvement Scheme.

Driving Services was originally awarded the contract in 1998 following a rigorous tendering process. The company has beaten the competition yet again and won the contract following another tendering procedure. The National Driver Improvement Scheme (NDIS) is offered to those drivers who have been let down by their driving and would normally be prosecuted in court. The course is a half day theory focusing on driver behaviour, avoidable accidents and hazard perception. This is followed by two half day driving sessions with an approved trainer. The course is seen as an excellent alternative to prosecution as it offers education to those drivers who would not normally improve their skills after being involved in a crash. Joanne Roberts, NDIS Manager said “I am delighted about the renewal of the contract. Driving Services has been working closely with Hampshire Constabulary since 1998 and we are looking forward to continuing this relationship for years to come.” Sergeant Stephen Wakeford, Casualty Reduction Manager for Hampshire Constabulary said “We are pleased to renew the contract. Driver Improvement is very important in relation to road safety and we look forward to working with Driving Services once again.”
