Driving up safety standards

Generic Driving Image

When Doug Jenkins established Driving Services in 1988, he was determined to raise the standard of road safety among drivers while reducing the insurance premiums of fleet clients. 19 years on, he has succeeded on both counts.

Fleet Driver Training and Risk Management

Driving Services was established to provide fleet clients with a fully comprehensive fleet driver training and risk management service for drivers, tailored to their individual needs.

Since the formation of the company, rising safety standards and falling insurance premiums have established Driving Services as the foremost provider of driver training services both in the UK and abroad.

Corporate responsibility is a major business issue and nowhere more so than in the arena of driving on company business - particularly given revisions to the corporate manslaughter legislation.

The need for road safety policies is stark, given that there are three million company car drivers and a further five million drivers who carry out work-related journeys in their private cars. The proposed revisions to corporate manslaughter legislation have helped to drive this issue up the corporate agenda.

Driving Services, with their extensive portfolio of services can help you meet your Duty of Care obligations in relation to driving to work.

Unrivalled standards of quality expressed through first class training packages are the hallmark of Driving Services. Through a network of trainers operating from convenient UK locations, the company provides a portfolio of training programmes to complement our clients fleet risk management initiatives.

A large part of our business now also involves running a variety of educational courses on behalf of various Police forces around the country and in Northern Ireland.

The courses are often offered as an alternative to prosecution and are intended to encourage law breakers to identify reasons for their poor driving behaviour and modify their actions.

Because every aspect of the Driving Services approach is provided to BS EN ISO 9001:2000 quality standards, the company can produce a full list of all drivers who have attended a course at the touch of a button.

In 1994 Driving Services became the first company in the fleet safety and driver training sector to achieve Investors in People, the Department of Employment's flagship programme for employee development.

Total Fleet Risk Management

The Total Fleet Risk Management Approach encompasses more than the driver training element of our programmes. It takes a look at current procedures in place that contain policy, licence checks, accident reporting, vehicle specification and many more areas that send the right messages to all drivers.

Through the correct procedures, your drivers will go along the route of a complete culture change. Click here for more information about the services we provide.
